Default EVGA CLC 280 and GPU cooling?

So during the recent EVGA scavenger hunt I won an EVGA CLC 280.
Given my 3570 and Z77a-GD65 has been throwing up constant "Northbridge not ready" errors for 8 months now I'm not really wanting to use it for the CPU.

I spotted a PCB version of a 1080ti on Craigslist for $500 and got to thinking. Could I use a NZXT G10 or G12 with this EVGA CLC 280? Because if I could... damn that would be one affordable 1080ti!

What do you folks think?

You can't use the G10 as it requires "teeth" on the body of the pump and CLC has brackets. And G12 is the same design as G10.

Gotcha. Thanks for that observation.

I have to disagree with MARSTG. In having a G12 bracket, I actually contacted NZXT recently to ask if the 280 CLC would work with the bracket and they said that it "Should." Since the CLC does in fact have the standard Asetek mounting "teeth" it has a decent possibility of working with the EVGA CLC 280.

I know this is an old thread and the OP may not care anymore, but I can confirm that the EVGA CLC does in fact work with the G12. I am using one to cool my 1070 at the moment. The main issue with it is that it cannot use the screws that come with it because they are thumb screws. I ended up using different screws with the same bore and threading to mount it to the GPU. It takes some finagling but I got it to work perfectly.

Thanks for letting us know. It may no longer be relevant to the OP, but that's exactly the kind of first hand experience folks need to be able to find if they happen to land here via a google search.
