Cooling the chipsets??
Hi guys,
I'm working on setting up my first cooling loop and I come to wonder whether I even need to cool the northbridge and/or southbridge on my mobo? I intend to overclock once I've got this running, so I believe these bits will be running a bit hotter than stock.
Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R Rev 1.0. Chipsets I'm looking at are the Intel P35 (big gold HS next to CPU), and the Intel ICH9R (small gold HS next to PCI-E slot).
The real question to me is if I need to put extra cooling on them and introduce more restriction into my loop, or will the stock heat sinks do the job just fine? They will both be getting some pretty good airflow if I just leave them.
Thoughts?
