If the OC'ed GTX 260 spanks the HD 4870, I'd like to see what an OC'ed 4870 would do back. While ATI and NVidia may not like having to constantly exchange barrages, to us, the consumer, it's like watching two insanely hot women go at each other...

The next GPU review will be the Palit HD 4870 Sonic which will go head to head against this card. Unfortunately, as you can see there isn't one HD 4870 around which is overclocked enough to compete wit this card. Well, maybe the Diamond XOC but that card holds a whole new set of problems.

For what it's worth, [H] reviewed this card as well, and their sample went up to 705/1490/1195 on the core/shaders/memory with stock cooling. Not sure how this compares to regular GTX260 samples, but it can be taken for what it's worth.

Unless you run Crysis 24/7, the 4870 will do all that you want on a 24" monitor or less. I love mine, and wouldn't spend another 40-50$ for that increase in FPS. But I'm a bang-for-the-buck guy.
