Default EVGA 1080ti FTW3 Hybrid fan replacement help.

Hey ya'll,

This is the GPU in question in case it helps: https://www.evga.com/articles/01123/...i-ftw3-hybrid/ I got involuntarily upgraded to this thing from a non-hybrid one after a warranty issue.

I submitted a question to EVGA about this, but wanted to get ya'lls advice and any information just in case they don't give me an answer that helps.

I want to replace the fan on this thing. The stock one rattles like the bones on my grandmother. It's a 3 pin (2 pin) cable coming off the GPU cooler, and I have a couple Noctua NF-P12 1300 3pins sitting around that would work great.

My question(s): Could I run a Y splitter off this guy and push/pull? How will the two fans react to the onboard fan control? Is it even worth my time, should I just stick one fan on it and forget it? Anyone with experience with doing this on a card? I'm mostly concerned about the amperage coming off the GPU being able to handle two fans, and I was unable to find information about it anywhere. I am not sure if EVGA will actually tell me this info, but I have asked them.

Thanks!

If it rattles it should be an RMA replacement anyway, the bearings are shot. That being said, I'm not sure where you would mount the 2nd fan if you put a splitter on it. Does EVGA's software show the RPM speeds of the fan? I'm not sure that a 1300 RPM fan would move enough air.

EVGA got back to me without any fan specs, I re-asked them.

For future reference, they said not to put a Y splitter anywhere near it because the header couldn't handle any two fans. I'll post the fan specs for others if I get them, but now you got me thinking 1300 won't cut it so I might look for something 2000 rpm and just stick with 1 fan or I might just offload it to my mobo or a fan controller. Since I have an ITX I only have 3 headers so I was hoping to not have to buy anything extra and instead split right off the VC.

Thanks for your feedback Sugar!
