My System Specs

Default X Pedetor X3 Fan Controller [SOLVED]

Hey team,

A friend of mine just picked up an Areocool Xpredetor X3 case and it has one of these neat built in fan controllers. From what I can see, this unit should have 2 separate channels of 3 fans each (Channels A1-3, and B1-3) which each channel having it's own knob for speed control. After some brief troubleshooting, I was able to get it to vary the speed of all six connected fans together, but I can't seem to get them to act as two separate channels. The fans being used are...

2x Corsair HSP PMW quiet ED.
2x Corsair Red LED (so gaudy...)
1x 180mm areocool (Case OEM)
1x120mm Aerocool (case OEM)

If anyone has had to troubleshoot this already, I'd appreciate your input.

Thanks
Garret

Solution - connect ONLY the 3 pin fan leads to the fans.

There are some 4-pin MOLEX connections on the Areocool OEM fans that need to be LEFT OFF; do not plug in the MOLEX on the cables attached to the fans (DO plug in the MOLEX (x2) that are ATTACHED TO THE FAN CONTROLLER). This seems to be functioning as Channel A (x3 fans) and channel B (x3 fans).

I think I used the MOLEX to bridge the two circuits by accident. Problem; solved.
