Default What is this laptop part?

A friend dropped his laptop pretty hard, and I'm picking up the pieces....quite literally.
It's an Asus K55N.
This was loose in the laptop and I'm not sure where it goes. It has dampening pads...

Of course, right after I post this I find this: How to disassemble Asus K55N >> Inside my laptop
It's part of the trackpad assembly (see step 16, second pic).

Some form off glue to bond the studs back in.

Yeah or build up/fill in the holes with a glue and then use a more aggressive screw into it.

Best option is replace the bottom case.

Or like others have said some epoxy should do fine.

^^^^ What they said.
Epoxy up the bosses that have been broken and sheared off. Those round brass things hanging off the bottom of the hinge need to be in the bosses since the machine screws thread into them.
Make sure the epoxy is not mixed too brittle and prep your surfaces!
