Those would be a very nice AMD option if that rumour turns out to be true.

it will be interesting to see what Intel does...stuck on the 14nm, they don't have much to leverage a 16 core / 32 thread CPU with a 5.1ghz turbo.

Yea, it certainly has me questioning whether or not to go with the 9900k in the new year.

If the Ryzen 3 specs are correct, that's insane for $100 USD. 6C/12T for an entry level CPU, Intel got a hard fight on their hands.

That number is valid for only 2 very specific financial software suites, the average boost is half of that number!

I wouldnt. But thats me, and I'm on a 8700k and a (IMO) hack job semi-updated-gotta-catch-up-to-amd processor doesnt interest me in the least.

Ive honestly debated paying for a swap/trade to AMD. Just seems like a lot of hassle cross shipping, RMA problems, etc etc.

If it was local I probably would do the move to AMD today.

Just so I am sure I get this, you are saying I shouldn't go with the 9900k correct?

Honestly looking at that 3700X and 3850X has me wanting them. Hell I am not so much a fan boy that I would stick with Intel if AMD can get their gaming performance up. And these chips sure do seem like they could cause if the specs are right they have the clock speed to do it. I just don't want to be waiting forever either. Either way all I am asking for Christmas is MemEx gift cards so I will be ready for something new soon.

Hey any word on PCIE lanes? Still the same 20?
