Default Trustworthy Nvidia, at it again - a second, awful GT1030

And people wonder why I don't buy Nvidia anymore. Sigh.

Same price, same name. 65% memory bandwidth compared to the original GT1030. It's despicable.

is it nVidia that's doing this, or their partners?

Nvidia would set the spec requirements for the card. They have obviously dropped it from needing ddr5 to that or ddr4...canít blame the other companies for wanting to make more money...would be nice if there was some evident branding for them.

Other than having DDR 4 right on the package?

I don't agree, but if the product is cheap, and people want to buy it, then make the product.

Gamersnexus covered that 1030 card back at the end of June.

I still buy Nvidia, but crap like this really does piss me off.

You pretty much HAVE to buy Nvidia at the high end, no other choice. But oh how I WISH there was another choice!!

That's the problem. AMD's processor division has really stepped up with Ryzen, Threadripper especially when you consider the disappointment of Bulldozer etc. Their GPU division hasn't followed suit. Fiji was very underwhelming IMO and they're just not catching up to nVidia.

It just seems they hype and miss the mark time after time. Which is sad since better competition would keep Nvidia from pulling crap like this. I'm sure there's apologists that will say its due to ram shortages, manufacturing etc, but not making it very obvious this is a different card is a complete FU to purchasers.

A second Polaris rebrand is on the way (Polaris 30) for Q4 2018, Vega 7nm is not coming for gamers but only professional market (Q1 2019), gamers will first get Navi 10 on 7nm (Q2 2019), Navi 14 and sometimes in 2020 Navi 20, the highest sku.

I bought into G-Sync so I can see myself with NVIDIA for a good long time to come.
