Crap... I should have thought to contact you when I saw you were buying a G5.... I've got the original 8GB module from my G3 that I'd bet dollars to doughnuts is a match to the stick your G5 shipped with. (I ordered a matched 2X8GB set.... ).

As long as it's working for you, it's not an issue. I had initially ordered a single 8GB stick, but changed my mind and upped it for a matched 2X8GB set. Now I've got a leftover stick.

What matched set did you get? I bought the cheapest 8gb stick @ 2666 I could find. Lol I am just wondering.

I bought a cheap one because I use my iPad with a Logitech Keyboard case most of the time when I am about. No need to upgrade to a matched set or 32GB lol when all I do is do graphic design 99% of the time. I still havenít even tried to game on it yet. I gots a 1050 4GB

This set here... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N2VUOBJ/..._rv_eml_rv0_dp

Not super high-end, but higher than stock timings. I was more concerned with getting a matched set than I was with the higher timings.

Upgrade my rig to 32GB DDR3-1600 now. I got a sweet deal on a 16GB set.

yup with the prices right now it's really hard to wait to for zen 2. When 32gb of 3000mhz ram in just under 300$ and 3600mhz 16gb is just under 200$ but must hold out lol
