My System Specs

Default Windows 7 Readyboost

Is there any reason to use a Corsair Flash Voyager on my rig in sig which is running Windows 7 64 bit? I decided to give it a try today and so far, I don't feel much of a difference. I'm not doing much though besides just surfing the web and listening to music at the moment.

Readyboost will do nothing for a system with more than 1GB of memory. It is a gimmick and was mostly useful on laptops.

All right. Might as well just leave my USB drive be and use it when needed to transfer files. Don't wanna kill such a good USB drive.

Readyboost was definitely a gimmick. USB 2.0 speeds are horrendous for that. Perhaps when USB 3.0 comes out it will be better, but with the way that RAM is getting really fast, I don't see the need for RB.
