My System Specs

Default I want a tablet

I am finding myself a lot of times in movement and I would like to have a tablet to watch stuff, like YouTube or something else. I have a subscription to Curiosity stream. I would like a nice tablet, maybe 7-8". Recommendations?

Depends what you want to do on it. For just streaming video (Youtube & Netflix), my kids use a Fire HD 8" that I installed Google Play on. For $100 on Amazon, decent tablet with ok specs. Or wait for Amazon day, it was $69 last July.

On the Android side Firetabs 8's (sideload google play) are one of the best values ~$100 then add a 32GB micro SD card or something if you even need the extra space instead of grabbing the higher capacity model. Anything else in that price range (RCAs from Visions etc) are complete and utter garbage. There is also a lot better out there with higher density screens to complete with Apple's offerings but the pricing starts to jump.

Any upper price limit?

We've been happy with our Octacore Samsung Galaxy, but it wasn't cheap. A Quad core one was much cheaper, but...

Not quite a "tablet" but honestly I'd look into a used SP4 even a SP3 would so. Lots out there for cheap.

Budget not really clear, could go up to 300 cad. Any used iPads in this price range?
