wonder if they're doing this to sell all their leftover Skylake and/or Kaby Lake CPU's...

You don't think they already used up all the stock given how slow they update their laptops? i3 or Penny in the Air?

I'm replacing a 2012 11" Air with this new model. And while it's starting to feel slow, I'm mostly bumping for storage and retina. So they were futureproof, but they were a premium product in 2012, not entry level.

Kind of sad to see a dimmer screen spec on the MBA, but I suppose that was for battery life. Other than that, spec-wise, this looks like the ideal portable writing laptop for the next few years.
