What are you folding with?

I sold my 5830 to a friend, so that card isn't folding for me anymore

That additional production came from a GTX8800 Ultra for about 8k, and a GTX275 Coop for about 11K. Ran into some driver issues, going to tinker some more...likely put 2 8800 Ultras to work for now. Once I get my own personal sytem sorted then I will put that 275 back to work, possibly even with one of the Ultras again.

edit---- stooopppiiiddd Dell OEM OS, otherwise I would have my own system up and running fine right now.

....Try out Ubuntu?

And, I'm not even going to mention that 'other' method of getting a working version of Windows!

PerryC March 27, 2012 11:32 AM

I have been toying with the idea with using Ubuntu on it, can only do cpu folding on it though. Its only a s775 dual core 2.4Ghz, so I am not sure what kind of points it would produce. My SB/IB will finally be sorted out in the next month or two, I think I am going to work a multi proc build after that.

Other than actually buying a new copy of windows I honestly wouldn't even know where to begin to get a working copy.

finally hit 5 million points!!!! creeping while your sleeping.

edit. ^ ubuntu desktop great free os, folds like a mutha (compared to windows)

I had 2 OC'd Q6600 one on W7 one on Ubuntu Desktop, linux os was nearly double the production

SwingOP3 March 27, 2012 09:48 PM

Well Done!! CoolHandL!!

PerryC March 28, 2012 07:02 AM

Nice job, CoolHandL. I wish I had a Q6600 of my own to toy with, otherwise I would be cranking it up. On another note I think I just scored a fully functional evga 680SLI for free  so I am going to be see what I can with that E6600.

great_big_abyss March 28, 2012 08:09 AM

I OC'd my 965 from 3.4 to 3.7 and it seems to have added another 1500ppd. It went from 2500-3000 up to 4000-4500. WTF? It's only a 300MHZ OC.
