Heh... doesn't look like they lasted too long... glad I caught a screenie of it, otherwise I would have wondered where the few extra points came from... ;)

let the fold go on!!

I got an old P4 that you can have free, single core HT i believe in the 3.2ghz range, even comes with a dfi 945 motherboard if you want to send something for shipping.

So far today's been fruitful, got my i7-975 into an x58 board and OC'd to 4ghz doing bigadv, then put a couple OC'd 470GTX's on my old P5WDH board that started life folding 24/7 with my qx6700es a few years back.

The dual x5460 is still sitting waitng for my attention, that might happen tonight or this weekend and got my tracking # for the dell workstation that has a spot for my extra x5460 (along with one of its own)

2011 resolution, spend no $ on folding parts this year.... BUT utilize what I have lying around to the best I can. I figure if I can get both my dual-quad xeons into cases I can leave them in my condo running 24/7 and they should be damn more stable then the octo-gpu box that I've been visiting often these holidays.

thanks for the offer bro, i kinda look at power consumption though :p although it might just power the board + vga's till i find something else hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

will,well,actually, about to assemble a couple 580 sli rig right now, the saddest part is teh guy wont have it folding. told him free build+testing if he folds lol he said screw it.

edit : thats a heavy resolution to keep. lets see :p

Not spending money on folding gear.. whoa, I couldn't do that one. I like the "utilize current workstations" though, that one I might have to steal.

My resolution is to work on efficiency... upgrade all my older spaceheaters to fermi cards and work on -bigadv folding. Now if I can only find a couple I7 970's ... As for not spending money on folding... utterly impossible

Dunno about that resolution..... Put dual msi twin frozr II 470's on my old P5W Deluxe Home mobo with the qx6700es chip. Was working ok at a slight overclock (gpu's) 14.7kppd per card. Then I had the stupid idea of squeezing more out of them. While bringing them down from obvious artifacting I ran the msi Kombustor (kinda like Furmark) and the machine locked up. No biggie right? Well it wont boot anymore. Rig turns on, all the fans spin up but nothing, eventualy the cpufan spins down.... Tried clearing cmos, tried unpluging power from the gpu's (didnt remove cuz they're a pain the way I have this setup rigth now).

I'm at a loss, short of taking everything apart and piecing it back together slowly anyone have some clues?

On the bright side I found a local buyer for some of the things that came installed with the supermicro board I bought from the f/s forum, couple fb-dimm sticks and if there arent any errors all 4 of them. Then he expressed interest in the "Extra Special" xeons that the board came with. Cold make it so I only spent $200 for the board and 8gb of fb-dimms.

Maybe I can work it so that profit from the fb-dimms/xeons gets me whatever I blew on the dual470 rig, then I'd still not be out of pocket for folding this year.....
