My System Specs

Default Playerunknown's battlegrounds

Didn't see any thread about this game so I figured I'd start one. Anyone try it yet ? I bought it last week and I've been having a blast playing coop with some friends. The game is currently in EA so expect lag , bug and performance issues but I'm loving the concept so far.

I knew of Brendan Greene and his Battle Royale efforts that spawned several mods and games but wasn't aware he made it to early access level for his own stand-alone version. Haven't played it but thanks for the heads up!

Looks like fun, I had a guy buy my cheapo PC off me yesterday just so he could play this game, so it must be good.

It's awesome. So much so that I need to finally get off my ass and upgrade the old rig, as playing with 30-40 fps isn't fun.
Still...optimization is supposed to be done in the next week or two, but maybe that'll give me enough of a bump to get more playable fps.

This video is a good watch . Describes pretty well what's coming up. If the devs keep doing what they are doing this game could easily be in the top 5 for this year.

I gave it a shot last week, definitely needs a lot of work. Probably primarily on the server-side of things as I find hit detection and lag to be pretty bad.

I'm really not into MP only shooters, but will say that this one looks a lot more interesting and creative than most. Animation looks really chunky though.

I'm assuming it's played in a session-style where you drop in with nothing for a 'however many minute long deathmatch' each time?

Yes I believe that is the style. Certainly that video suggests that with it counting down how many players remaining with each kill.

Yeah it's battle royale style.
Up to 100 players all start on a plane which travels across the (large) map. You can choose when to parachute out, though it'll force you out if you stay until the edge.
Start off with purely cosmetic gear so need to scavenge for weapons and armour.

There are several high risk high reward areas, where assault rifles and high quality armour are plentiful, however everyone knows about those areas, so you're fighting with others over it.

I prefer to land in less populated areas where I won't be bothered by too many other people.

The border shrinks every few minutes, forcing you to stay in the play area or get killed. There's also random bombing areas which will get hit by artillery strikes. I've heard they happen in areas if people are camping there for too long, but don't know how accurate that is.
