Maybe because of this?

Diablo III's Game Breaking Bug: Error 3006 from Side Mission Gaming News.

What a fking piss off though, just get out of school and then they take the servers down WTF.

Yeah you'd think that sort of glitch would get ironed out in the beta. Oh well, hopefully they have everything cleaned up and working properly for the long weekend.

On another note: how's amd/nvidia driver support so far? Anyone having issues?

jibz May 15, 2012 12:20 PM

flickering lighting with Nvidia SLI, restarting the game usually fixes the issue.

Blizzard games don't get along well with multi-gpu setups.

Nothing less should be expected. No massive online game will ever launch and stay launched smoothly for 48 hours without tweaking and or patching. I'm actually amazed at how well it went. I was playing 30 minutes after launch.

Except its not a MMO. Wouldnt have got it if it was.

Except it's not an MMO. It's a game with a stupid always-on DRM.

I'm not exactly trying. I mean, if you're not the kind of person who ever got into playing grindfests, Diablo 3 is not going to change your mind. There's a fair bit of customization to your character, and the later difficulties you unlock are quite frankly cruel and unusual. Random dungeon generation is cool, and like someone said, the storyline is pretty good. But at the end of the day you have to be a fan of the genre(s) (Top down isometric realtime RPG) to really want to play it.

After a lifetime of mmorpgs Im all too familiar with grindfests..

to best describe the diablo series you could call it the grand father of hack and slash with the right item finding system to cause addiction.

End game turns into a endless grind of boss runs in search of the best items.

Still pondering whether I should get that game or not. I had good fun in Opus I and II.

Main turn off for me is the always online feature. I know I will have issues of travels and stuff where I won't always have Internet available... kind of is a bummer.

Guess I'll see how I like it when I try the starter edition. Might be good enough to get me to buy it (can get it for around 39 Euros in Belgium).
