Default Dell's quality has really decreased....u2518D

I bought a u2518D. I received what I thought was subpar. I requested a panel exchange and I get something much worse, making me think I have already received a "good" panel.

I never had any of these issue with my Asus monitor, even though many others did.

Idk, I think there needs to be an improvement in displays.

Monitor on the left is the replacement, monitor on the right it the original.

Settings to minimize the effect to bring it inline with my eyesight. Dim room, 2 meters back, iso 800, 1/8th shutter speed.

Is the light bleed very noticeable during normal use on a dark screen, or only with the camera?

Why are you blaming this on Dell? LCD panels has always been a lottery of getting good vs bad.

I remember once when I worked for NCIX a guy bought their guarantee for LCD monitors and did an exchange like 4x before being happy.

Obivously if there isnt much black on the screen then it isnt noticeable. but If I try to watch a movie with bars or dark scenes then its just not that great honestly. I also have heavy IPS glow in the bottom left corner only and its very distracting.

I think I may just save up for something different.

And this image represents what I see with my eye, not over exaggerated due to the camera. If I did that it would be much much worse. Like this for example.

did you Google to see if bleed was an issue with this particular model/series?

I did read reviews, and it was highly rated. But there are always a few complaining of bleed, that is in fact glow, so I went with the majority. Anyway, The first compared to the second is not too bad.

If we remove vendors, there really should be an onus on making the backlight more uniform and with less bleed.

Hopefully oled will come down in price soon.

It's an ultrasharp... Dell needs to stand by that name and QC every panel

Maybe your expectations are too high?
