Default Best LGA1366 Motherboard for under $400

The title pretty much says it. I'm looking for an i7 board for gaming that is under $400. Right now I am thinking about the Asus P6T Deluxe V2.

Hey dude. No typically one would try to create one thread for a topic they want to discuss. You just have to pick the best forum to place it in.

Many of us click the "New Posts" link at the top in order to see which posts people are posting in, and having multiple threads on the same topic can be confusing for the people trying to help you. Also, people may take the time to offer thoughtful, time-consuming suggestions for your question, that other people have answered already in the other thread.

Hope you find a great motherboard...I don't have an i7 yet so I cannot offer up much help. I do like Gigabyte boards if that's any help.

Great to see fellow HWCers from Ajax There are a few of us on here.

If you don't mind getting a mATX board, the Rampage II Gene is INCREDIBLY full featured, in a small package and an excellent price($309 at newegg). It has most of the features of it's big brother, the Rampage II Extreme, has both mounting holes(S775 and S1366, no hunting for "special" versions of heatsinks) and despite its small size, is quite powerful.

If that doesn't tickle your fancy, I'd recommend the EVGA X58 board, a great motherboard with many great features, good slot placement and a good overclocker. Hell, if you ever decide you want to spend a bit of extra money and go with its big brother, you can use your step up(with-in 90 days) and grab the EVGA Classified, paying only the difference. Those are the two best under $400 motherboards, that I would easily recommend to anyone.

I agree with Chilly. The EVGA X58 is the best board out there ATM.

If the EVGA x58 supported 1600 mhz RAM I would go for it.
