My System Specs

Default Vega Build w EK Velocity & 1600i

Ok so finally got home after a "long" 6 weeks on the road.........and back to "tinkering" with my new Build......
So I know its "overkill" (I hate that term)......but decided to swap out the AX 1200i for a AX 1600i.....Im solid now for a new HEDT build with RTX SLi at some poitn in the future.....my last AX1200 (not the "i" version I just took out).....lasted almost 6 yrs and will hang onto it for troubleshooting.....

- My one complaint with the 1600i is the inline capacitors in the 24 Pin and the PCI-E power cables......too bad they werent closer to the PSU plugs vs the Mobo end.....there fugly....my next piece will be a custom Cable Kit provided the capacitors are more appropriately incorporated.....(any feed back on this is appreciated).......
- although more robust power cable....really?...Corsair...almost 10" shorter (just made it...)

...other than that seems like a great PSU..10yr Warrantly....shouldnt need a new one for a long time (although I have yet to see the fan spin up)

EK Velocity (vs Supremacy (( all Nickel)) )
- EK boasts "lower profile" mounting kit...I kinda thought when I read this " hope my fingers can grab them"....in all honesty I would rather have the older longer style mounting posts...these small low profile thumb screws are true pita if you have chubby fingers (ok setting up on a bench...but for a Block swap with all the plumbing in the way and everything in the case.....pita!!
- On a good note...the CPU temps seem to be down maybe 2c vs the Supremacy...tried the Grizzly (Kryo) this time....spread method...(im normally pea size or "X" method.....

Added a couple of the Dark Side UV LED strips....(thanks Daz...4" longer strips please ).......

..Not a huge fan of the MSI SLi Bridge...find it too big (and bright)....tried to find a Asus ROG for 60mm spacing but couldnt find that or a 60 mm Evga Bridge...there really is not much out there.....

CPU is running on a 24/7 5Ghz (all cores) uncore (Cache speed) at 4.7Ghz w 1.285v Apdaptive (all power saving features enabled including IST C State etc....Core VID 1.31v Full load 1.25v w LLC 6

Running Cinebench 2160 'ish

CPU Peak 63c-65c

Looping Heaven GPU #1 - 36c GPU #2 - 35c

CPU Gaming - 53c

Temps seem good....using 100ml EK Cryo concentrate to 900ml (distilled (( with a little spring water)))

cheers.....

Yep gaming....little bi
t of Video Encoding (Handbrake)....overclocking and tweaking in the BIOS....and just seeing what kind of build I can out togther ....how far I can push it (within reason....nothing outrageous)...and mostly to see if I can do it .....

.....I have found that the technology changes so quickly now...there is something faster n better with new or modified interface etc etc.....have to start researching months before actually putting together something....

.....all the WC'ing gear has been recycled since 2013 or so....just replacing Blocks periocially...

Anyone can build top of the line system with top of the line gear...what always impresses me on here are those folks that can get the most and push there HW...getting the most out of smallest and mainstream gear ;) ....and the software gurus !!!!!

Nice to see it all put together! Well done :) I somehow missed this thead... Sorry man!

Question for you, what is going on in the red circle location here? I can see it looks like a cube shaped fitting, with one line going up to CPU, but what is the other line going down at an angle? Second drain?
