My System Specs

Default 9800gtx + accelero for a 4850

The accelero is not on the xfx 9800gtx as the heatsinks would not stay on, there are 2 dings on the base that i noticed when i went to put mx-2 on it, seems very minor and i can't feel the dif where the ding and polished surface meet. the 9800gtx hasn't been oced and runs fine. It artifacted for a while but after a reinstall windows and new drivers it's gone away.

I forgot the card in this pic

zoom in of my card :/

Missing one washer.

the dings i talked about

A word of advice, buying some thermal tape, or getting some thermal tape would be a better alternative to getting rid of your card.

You need to use isopropyl to clean the surface of the RAM first, then stick the RAMsinks on, or else they fall off easily.

Hey I have the same card if it is the 9800gtx+ - it does run hot but I got that EVGA precision download and when you set the fan to 80% it never overheats past 70 in games even with everything cranked up to max. The stock setting for the fan was only 20% - which surprised me.

From what i'm hearing your going to be no better off with the 4850 as they are hotter cards then the 9800GTX is dude. If anything keep the Accelero for it & just sell off the GTX.

heh....well it depends if EaGle1337 gets lucky and hits someone who has a 4850 with a different cooler on it...Though I think the stuff that XFX is coming out with is going to be awsome.

Not sure about them but I plan to get a couple HIS 4850 ICEQ4 Turbos over the next couple months for a cheapo backup system. They are supposed to be good coolers from what I hear.
