I am a pea person for flat heatsinks, or a small line across heatpipes when using a direct touch cooler with small gaps.

My Gelid Extreme tube came with a little butter knife for the spread method.....usually Im pea.....mixed it up this time and "x".....GPU's are "-" .....this time there "x".......guess we al really should get lives huh

So when you guys are talking about spreading... how much do you spread? What I mean is how think is the spread layer when you're done?

It matters not, within reason. Use enough to cover the IHS and save you money.

Nice video. A bit long but I guess it can't be short. I'll stick with spreading so I know I cover everything. It just takes the guess work out of it and it's not like I'm installing a cpu every day week-in /week-out.
