Yeah, but it's not like Nvidia is much better. To paraphrase anandtech, NVIDIA is pitching the 1070 Ti as an upgrade for the legendary GTX 970, which launched at a paltry $329 US. I waited and got mine for $389 Cdn, plus tax.
Last night, spurred on by my growing bitcoin balance, I was looking at various retailers and a 1070 Ti is $650 plus tax. I know prices are still inflated by the mining crazy, but that is ~66% percent more expensive. Wasn't the x70 series suppose to be upper mainstream?
Bitcoin will need to rise a LOT more if I am to get a new card for free-ish.
