Personally, I think they're adding all of this fluff because they think its what we want.

Honestly, by now, for $3500 I should be able to but a local dimming (none of this micro dimming bullshit), properly calibrated LED TV that gives me some form of panel uniformity. Instead, I'd have to go with a $7000 Sharp Elite or a plasma that doesn't pump out the necessary backlight intensity.

Forgive my language but I don't give two shits about how thick the damn thing is, nor how many pointless features it has. Give me picture quality or you can take your 3D TV and cram it where the sun don't shine.

As you can tell, I'm in the market for a HDTV and I'm completely fed up with being taken for an idiot by the manufacturers.
