Okay, so it’s nothing revolutionary, and likely it isn’t going to tell you something you don’t already know, but GeIL and Futuremark have teamed up to bring you a web based memory detection and suggestion tool.
The basic idea, is that a small program quickly scans your system specs and based on that, returns with a suggestion for a potential memory upgrade. Obviously the recommendation is based on GeIL products, but they aren’t the only option.
While it may be utterly useless to most tech types, it could be very handy to pass on to those not so savvy, as well it also spits out both the name of your CPU and Motherboard, including model name. Depending on the program’s capabilities and accuracy in detecting model model, this quick 10-20 second web based scan could prove invaluable to techs attempting to find a motherboard model for driver downloads without using third party programs or opening up the PC.
The scan will require the use of Java and does download and auto run small program onto the PC.
