As a post in our forums showed yesterday, NVIDIA seems to be going ahead with its rather beefy looking heatpipe cooler solution for the GTX480.

This morning EXPreview discovered a few shots of the XFX retail GTX 480 and GTX 470 cards, the latter of which uses a fairly standard looking dual slot cooler. The GTX480 is the biggest attraction though, with side extruding heatpipes; this seems to insinuate that the heat production of the card may be a little more than NVIDIA’s traditional design can handle.

Both cards are said to fall within the acceptable 10.5 inch ATX specification. The card will debut March 26th.
