scythe1 300x225 Video Card Cooling Done Right Scythe Makes the Setsugen OfficalScythe has been really working hard when it comes to cooling innovation. The Setsugen (Snow Field)  – with its release now official – looks to keep your GPU’s running nice and cool.

The most striking feature this cooler offers is the fan mounting position. With the use of Scythes latest Slipstream Slim Fan (120mm x 12mm) they have decided to mount it underneath the cooler as opposed to a more traditional top mounted position. This will help the Setsugen achieve a much lower profile than normal aftermarket solutions.

This Slipstream is no slouch either with a capability of pushing between 19.4 – 45CFM of air it will ensure good flow over the dense heatsink array. Moving the heat away from the GPU are four copper heatpipes spaced evenly apart each of which goes into its own fin setup . Mounting support is wide and varied going as far back as the X1300 from ATi to the latest 5870, and nVidia 6600 all the way to their GX285. This will allow almost any user with a video card today the choice of using Scythes Setsugen instead. A wide variety of RAM and MOFSET sinks are included as well depending on your application. This really helps round out a design that is almost completely universal.

Available now with a suggested MSRP of $39USD we hope to see this cooler soon on store shelves.
