ATI is is taking over the market, ensuring that they have every possible price and performance point covered when it comes to video cards and their new 5000 series cards.
Their latest focus is on the lower end of the market with the Cedar core featured on the rumoured HD 5450 and HD 5500 series. The HD 5450 has been prematurely listed on an international retailer’s website, divulging the specs of an MSI branded card.
The card is intended for the low end and media centre environment with 80 stream processors, core speed of 650MHz, 1 GB of GDDR3 memory at 1600MHz and a 64-bit memory interface.
It has a passive heatsink, and connections include DVI, VGA and HDMI. Pricing from the Latvian retailer is listed at 44.76 LVL (Latvian Lats) or roughly $87 USD.
The HD 5450 has also been found on auction website EBAY listed at a Buy It Now price of $62.99 USD, however it has only half the memory with 512MB GDDR3.
ATI is expected to officially announce the release of the card in early February.
