PowerUp Tuner looks to fit the needs of overclockers and gamers by offering complete control over a graphics card’s clock speeds and voltage.
After spending the last few years watching the competition introduce overclocking software, PowerColor is now trying their hand at designing a solution of their own. But does their new PowerUp Tuner have what it takes to compete against entrenched rivals like MSI’s AfterBurner, EVGA’s Precision, ASUS’ GPU Tweak and Gigabyte’s new OC Guru II? That remains to be seen but it does look highly capable of delivering everything we could possibly want.
As with most graphics card tweaking software, PowerUp Tuner uses a simple set of sliders to accomplish its clock speed and voltage goals. The interface looks relatively straightforward and includes a pull-out monitoring widget as well. Expect voltage controls for the core and memory alongside a full suite of fan speed adjustments and individual profile management.
If all of this sounds familiar, that’s because other software has been offering these features for years now. The PowerUp Tuner does have an slight advantage in the graphic design department with a very clean interface but don’t expect anything particularly different.
