In a world of social media obsession, it shouldn’t be a surprise that NVIDIA chose Facebook to air the first pictures of an upcoming graphics card whose title and market position will remain unknown…for now. 

Earlier today, we were tipped off by a number of eager beavers…errr….members about a post NVIDIA made to their official GeForce Facebook page.  It supposedly shows a teaser picture of an upcoming, unreleased graphics card. What the picture does show is a shroud with NVIDIA’s logo etched into it alongside what looks like a direct stylization of the GTX 480′s external heatsink design.

Naturally, we couldn’t get any more information from the boys in green about this (likely) Kepler-based card but considering the location of this post, it should be aimed directly at the gaming public. Could it finally be the card that topples AMD’s HD 6990 off of its lofty position as the fastest graphics card on the plane? Is it something that’s aimed at more affordable price points?  There’s only one thing we know: considering how buttoned up NVIDIA has been about all things Kepler, posting a teaser is a big step.  So, we’ll likely see this thing sooner rather than later.  Let the rumors begin!

    It’s stupid to be releasing new gfx cards every 6 months when the majority of game developers are already so far behind. Ditch the crappy console ports, poor quality textures, and ancient Dx9 support!

    I think they should focus on making it possible for people to actually find and buy the video card that supposedly came out last month before announcing new ones. :)

    its only good! gives game designers new tools and more possibilites!
    and gives you the change to keep your graphic card longer!
    i hate consoles for slowing the industri down too, but that doesnt change the fact that new graphic cards are just good for the industri!

    I’m with you on the console port ditching so game developers can start to create better games for at least DX10 games better though is for DX11(.1)

    Their already new tools and more possibilities, the only thing is the developers need extra education to us these tools.
    But their isn’t enough budget most for the game and because the creative people/programmers are getting payed big bucks fort what they do and their is you guest it the boss of them is most likely a cheap scathe which doesn’t want to pay for it further education, because once educated people could leave for a better paying job.
    On the other side the creative people/programmers also don’t want to pay it for them self so the in fact are also cheap scathe them self by not educating them self further
    Otherwise we probably we already had more DX11(.1) games ;)
