MSI is offering a great twist on the GTX 480, revealing a water cooling ready card labelled the “HydroGen”.
The MSI N480GTX HydroGen Graphics Card comes with a full coverage copper water block covering 70% of the PCB including GF100 GPU, memory chip and VRM. The block is designed with 0.45mm micro-fin channels for improved cooling and uses G1/4″ threads. Total weight is 830 grams.
Aside from the improved cooling solution, the card itself is stock, running at 700MHz core, 1401Mhz shaders with 1536MB of ram and 384-but memory bus.It also includes MSI’s usual additions of Military Class components, dual-DVI and a mini-HDMI output, and supports all NVIDIA’s premier technologies.
The card is available for pre-order in Europe for £445.89 (incl. VAT) so one could reasonably expect the card to debut in North America around $575 US D.
