The secret is out days before the rumoured launch; the long awaited gap filler, the Radeon HD 5830, has had its specs leaked.
Chinese website IT168, dug up some official ATI product slides to spill the secret about this anticipated mid-range gaming card based on the 40nm Cypress core of ATI’s lead products. (See Slides Below)
It has been slightly neutered, with only 1120 stream processors, 56 texture units and 16 ROP’s, however it boasts an 800MHz core clock with 1000MHz memory. The card has 1GB GDDR5 with 256-bit memory interface operating an 128GB/s.
It actually requires a bit more power than the HD 5850, with a max TDP of 175W. It also appears that many AIBs are ready with non-reference cooler designs as seen with the Gigabyte, Sapphire and Powercolor card’s below.
Unconfirmed launch date has been set for February 25th, 2010 and according to anonymous sources, certain models of the card will be available for under the $250 CAD
