amd radeon hd 5830 video card 300x173 AMD Rumoured to Be Working on HD 5830AMD/ATI is reported to be soldifying their position in the graphics card market, by slotting in yet another video card to bridge the gap between the 128bit HD 5700 series and the powerful HD 5850 and up.

The ATI Radeon HD 5830 is poised to come in under the $200 price range to offer a very affordable DX11 capable gaming experience to users not wanting to drop the coin on the $300 and above cards.

This gap is currently occupied by the previous generation HD 4890 which will most likely be phased out with the HD 5830′s introduction.

Not much is know about the specs of this rumoured addition, but it is highly likely it will be based on the 40nm Cypress series GPU, featuring GDDR5 with a 256bit bus like the other HD 5800′s.  Details such as shader’s and clock speed are still unclear but we will be sure to report it when new information comes to light.

The reported official launch date is set for January 25th
