Alongside this month’s release of the AMD Catalyst 10.12 WHQL drivers, AMD also rolled out a preview of their newly redesigned Catalyst Control Center
The new design intends to improve usability via a new tasked-based interface, making a more intuitive navigation process. The changes are sure to make the process easier for the less tech savvy users, and for tinkerers, an “Advanced” view is still available.
“The AMD Catalyst software updates we are announcing today help make the industry’s best graphics solutions perform even better, while continuing to offer the highest level of stability and reliability,” states Ben Bar-Haim, corporate vice president of software at AMD Products Group. “Today’s driver release brings significant enhancements to the user interface, making it more intuitive than ever for users to take advantage of the wide range of features and benefits of their AMD Radeon graphics hardware. “
It should be noted that this is simply a beta preview, before the final rollout in the new year, so there may still be some minor bugs and a slight lack of polish.
The Catalyst 10.12 drivers bring nothing in the way of game specific updates, but do include DivX Accelerated support for AMD Radeon HD 6800 series cards; support for OpenGL 4.1, and the updated AMD Stream 2.3 SDK.
