AMD has announced the addition of Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon into their current Never Settle gaming bundle and is offering it to current Radeon graphics card owners.
With its numerous included games pushing up the sales of AMD’s HD 7000-series graphics cards, the Never Settle program has arguably been a wild success. Since it was first announced, there has been a fair amount of evolution as new titles were added and the bundles adapted to changing market conditions.
Now AMD is adding yet another title to Never Settle program: Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. This will be in addition to their current offerings of Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry 3 and Fary Cry 3. As usual, depending on the region, Tomb Raider and DMC3 may be substituted for one another. Never Settle is also making its debut in the HD 7700-series with the HD 7790 receiving Bioshock Infinite and Blood Dragon while the HD 7770 GHz will get Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon.
One of the more interesting aspects of this proportion is how it affects customers who have already purchased a HD 7000-series card. If you have EVER redeemed a Never Settle Reloaded code, AMD will automatically email you a free download code for Blood Dragon. It seems like AMD is showing their generous side these days in an effort to promote PC gaming.
Blood Dragon looks to be an interesting retro-style first person shooter which takes place during an entirely fictional alternate reality in 2007. Here is the description from the developer:
The year is 2007. It is the future. Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and new paths for peace must be found. A U.S. cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. A Mark IV Cyber Commando, Sergeant Rex Power Colt has been sent over to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on.
The entire game is a throwback to the charmingly bad sci-fi movies from the straight-to-VHS era, which broadly depicted the “future” as a mild dystopia slathered in neon and bionics.
