Microsoft’s Surface tablets will be launched on October 26, alongside Windows 8, according to a disclosure in Microsoft’s 10-K report.
The disclosure in the report, filed on July 26 with the Securities and Exchange Commission, reads: “The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices.”
Microsoft has said before that the Surface tablet would be launched with Windows 8, but the company had previously not disclosed exact launch plans.
This 10-K report also revealed that Microsoft believes its Surface tablet might chill relations with some OEMs.
