The iSSD is a solid state devices no bigger than a postage stamp at 16mm x 20mm x 1.85mm, and weighs less than one gram. The total potential capacity ranges anywhere from 4GB up to 64GB and can obtain speeds of up to 160MB/s read and 100MB/s write.
The device is based on the SATA interface, but designed to be soldered directly onto the mainboard.
While the iSSD is intended for portable device storage, in products such as tablets and ultra-slim notebooks, with its incredibly small “BGA” form factor it isn’t unreasonable to expect it could be seen on phone sized devices, and with its size and speed it could easily be capable of running a full operating system.
It’s mini, if you’re not!
