According to VR-Zone, Intel’s 510 series SSD, codenamed Elm Crest, may be making its public debut on March 1st, 2011. The drive will be the first Intel SSD to support SATA 6Gbps and is targeted at high performance users and gamers with enormous speed improvements over the previous generation. The drives will be available in a 2.5″ inch, 9mm thick form factor.

The Intel 510 will come in two sizes; 120GB and 250GB, rumoured to be priced at $280 USD and $580 USD respectively.
