Just over a month after being unceremoniously ousted from his position at Microsoft, Steven Sinofsky has taken up a new job: teaching at Harvard.
Saying that this was a “#sabbatical” (a one year period of leave from an organization), the former Windows head tweeted Wednesday night that he would be returning to Harvard in the spring to teach as an “Executive in residence”.
“[It’s] Called “Executive in Residence” now. Research, writing, classroom on prod dev, planning, collaboration, and more,” Mr. Sinofsky tweeted.
This will be Mr. Sinofsky’s second placement at Harvard, having previously served as a “Visiting Scholar” in 1998. During that time he worked with a fellow Harvard business school professor and co-authoured a book titled One Strategy: Organization, Planning, and Decision Making.
