Despite the age old adage, for some it isn’t what you do with it, its the size that counts. With USB storage drives, consumers generally want larger capacity or smaller devices, so the minds at Buffalo have decided to cater to both.
Buffalo has unveiled a 16GB USB Flash Drive that could be be nicknamed a “Thumbnail” Drive, given its 18x18x8 mm dimensions and weight of a mere 3 grams. While one would think that a device so small would be much easier to loose, the device can easily be left in a laptop’s USB port during travel, as it conforms neatly to the side the unit, and is unlikely to break off.
The Buffalo RUF2-PS drive comes in size variations from 2GB-16GB and is expected to surface in the next few weeks, though no pricing has been released. With 16GB flash drives hovering in the $50 range, it will be interesting to see the premium that this “tiny
 conveneicne costs.
