As the one year anniversary of Windows 7 quickly approaches, Microsoft has already begun the blueprints for its next operating system, Windows 8.
While we are still likely 2-3 years away from the next major OS, slides about the direction that Microsoft wants to take with its next product’s feel and functionality have been leaked, and it is “Applesque” to say the least.
The overwhelming theme is that Windows 8 will provide consumers an experience that is both easy to understand and use. Intuitive ideas such as facial recognition, advanced sensor support for things such as like, light, accelerometers and GPS as well as the potential for an entire cloud computing environment all point towards a far more interactive experience.
Another recurring focus is improving load times to let users access their information quicker and a power management capabilities.
Its very clearly that with Windows 8, Microsoft no longer intends to focus on just standard desktops and laptops, but is building a framework for an OS that can be used on a wide variety personal, and portable, computing devices.
