Almost a year ago, Google announced it would be porting its popular Chrome web browser over to a very lightweight operating system intended for basic devices, and now Dell has expressed into in being one of the first to support the OS on a consumer available product.
Amit Midha, president of Dell for greater China and South Asia stated, “there are going to be unique innovations coming up in the marketplace in two, three years, with a new form of computing, we want to be on that forefront … So with Chrome or Android or anything like that we want to be one of the leaders.”
The Chrome OS is ideal for low powered and on the go types of devices thanks to its incredibly lightweight design and simple interface.
Google has said that the Chrome OS will be released in Q4 of 2010
