Nokia will launch their first tablet – a Windows on ARM device – in the fourth quarter of 2012, according to a report by Digitimes.
Digitimes’ sources, the usual “upstream component suppliers”, claim that Nokia is working on a 10-inch Qualcomm based tablet with Compal Electronics. Initial shipments are expected to be in the 200,000 range.
The sources also claimed that “Nokia’s joining of the WoA (Windows on ARM) camp is expected to give Microsoft additional strength to compete with Google’s Android platform as well as Apple’s iOS.”
