Layers of dust can be a death sentence for PCs. When dust builds up on heatsink fans, it reduces their cooling efficiency. Taking a compressed air canister to the innards of the PC on a regular basis is certainly a solution, but that takes time and effort.

Cue MSI’s new dust removal technology. As their press release explains, “With this technology every time the computer starts up the cooling fan on the graphics card will run in reverse at full speed for 30 seconds. The powerful reverse airflow removes dust clinging to the heat sink fins and fan blades, ensuring optimal cooling performance from the graphics card every time!”

MSI plans to incorporate the technology into all of its new and upcoming graphics cards.

    so it will blow all the dust out of the card into your case for 30sec. then it will suck it strait back in…….. hmmmm point being

    Depending on the blade design this may or may not work. Unless the blade is like a flat plate, it is usually designed to work efficiently while spinning in one direction only and doesn’t work in reverse. This is the same reason why you have to flip your case fans around instead of just being able to change the polarity.
