ECS 264x299 ECS Release PCI E USB 3.0 and SATA 6GB/s CardsLets Face it, as consumers we are constantly overrun by the newest and fastest technology out there. But in order to keep pace or make use of new breakthroughs, it requires capital. Looking to bridge the Gap between the new and old ECS or Elitegroup Computer Systems have announced USB 3.0 and SATA 6GBS expansion cards.

Specifically desgined to allow those of us with older boards to use the next generation of USB and SATA these ECS’s cards are built to please. Utilizing a PCI-e Interface, they can be placed in any PCI-E expansion Slot, from 1x all the way to 16x depending on what is available.

The ECS U3N2 is powered my an NEC USB Controller which allows it to interface with the latest in 3.0 devices, but also provides backwards compatibility to earlier generation 2.0 ones.

Looking at the ECS S6M2 , we see it is mated with a Marvell SATA Controller which allows it to run at the nominal 6GB/s data transfer.

The only downside to either of these cards is the lack of Internal as well as External interfaces, this might be a limiting factor when it comes down to it.

Availability and Pricing are Unknown at the time of this Article.
