It has been long rumored that Microsoft had plan to rework the Windows logo for the launch of Windows 8. Now, a Chinese language technology blog has posted pictures of a device with what is purportedly the new logo.
As you can see, the new logo reflects Microsoft’s tile centric approach to its new Metro UI which will be used primarily on mobile and tablet versions of the OS. Gone is the tail, which has been emblematic of the Windows ecosystem since its early days.
cnBeta produced some mockups of what the logo might look like on devices and in the OS.
