According to a Linkedin profile update first noticed by Semi Accurate, former AMD system engineer John Bruno — who is seen to be one of the ‘fathers’ of Trinity — has turned up at Apple.
Mr. Bruno joined AMD when it acquired graphics manufacturer ATI, but was laid off in November 2011 as part of AMD’s money saving job cuts.
As per Linkedin, Mr. Bruno has joined Apple to be a “System Architect”. Exactly what his responsibilities will entail is unclear at this time.
As Apple has long been rumoured to be working on its own ARM-based processors for notebooks and desktops (Apple’s tablets and iPhones are already ARM-powered), he could be the man in charge of this transition.
