The announcement was made as part of a promotion for Medal of Honour: WarFighter, and EA has announced that those who preorder the game will receive a beta for Battlefield 4.
“Though Battlefield and Medal of Honor:WarFighter each offer players a completely unique experience, they are united by their underlying technology base – Frostbite. These are two of the hottest shooters, coming together to deliver a one-two punch of action, intensity and shooter entertainment,” said Frank Gibeau, EA labels president, in a statement.
EA and the game’s developer, DICE, were mum on details for the title with DICE only telling the press that “we’re not ready to talk about Battlefield 4 yet.”
This announcement is overshadowed with controversy. A link on EA’s digital distribution service Origin revealed a link to game promotional materials earlier this weekend, in a similar fashion to how details about the new Crysis were leaked.
One blogger is alleging that this leak was a marketing ploy orchestrated by EA’s marketing department. David Veselka from MP1st points to a Freddie Wong YouTube video that was produced a little too early to be a spoof of Battlefield 4 leak-gate as many suggest it is.
