Intel’s anticipated Sandy Bridge processors and P67 chipset, expected to debut shortly after the New Year, bring a new level of memory support for 8GB DIMMs.

The board uses the familiar dual channel, four DIMM slot configuration, initially appeared it may be a step backwards from the large memory potential we had come to enjoy with x58 and six available DIMM slots.  However, an MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard has been pictured running 32GB of total memory, meaning all four DIMM slots have been successfully populated with high density 8GB DIMM modules.

It also adds an interesting wrinkle for the expected 8 slotted LGA 2011 socket expected later in the year, which now we suspect, could see support for up to 64GB of memory!
