GIGABYTE has been dropping some seriously tantalizing hints about its upcoming line of enthusiast/gaming series motherboards. Now we have learned both the series name, G1-Killer, and that the first board on the market with be an x58 based unit.
While other companies such as Asus have their R.O.G, MSI their XPower/Big Bang and EVGA, the FTW series, GIGABYTE has always simply had one product line with the regular consumer and enthusiast combined. The company is now set to debut a whole new lineup, purely for those in the pursuit of the best performance and have released a few desktop wallpapers showing off the upcoming product line.
The board has a unique ammo clip designed southbridge heatsink, and if you look close enough, you can spot six memory slots, four PCI-E x16 slots, likely 8 SATA ports (likely six 6Gbps), and dual BIOS chips. Of course it all comes on the brand new Black PCB color scheme, with green expansion card slots.
The G1-Killer series will be unveiled at CES 2011 in January, and Hardware Canucks will be in attendance during the Press Event on January 5th, when it is likely we will see the full details of the new lineup.
