NVIDIA launched a video demo of an upcoming ION-2 netbook versus the traditional Atom netbooks running integrated graphics, showcasing just how well it performs on IE9
The company blogged yesterday about how ION-2 as featured in the Asus EeePC 1201PN – expected in April – will revolutionize simple tasks, like browsing the web. The video included pits an ION netbook versus a regular Intel unit and runs through tasks such as zooming in and out in on Bing Maps, rendering flying 3D images, and playing an HTML 5 online game with SVG graphics. Internet Explorer 9 of course, is able to make use of GPU acceleration to speed up all these tasks along with other things utilizing HTML5, Javascript and Direct 2D technologies.
Check out the video and let us know what you think about the future of netbooks.
